Entry into Italy

EU nationals only need a passport to enter Italy, because you stay longer than 90 days. Although you don´t need a visa for your study at the Italian Institute of Technology you have to prepare your stay at the Italian Institute of Technology. Besides this you need to organize your journey, a place to live, appointments with contact persons, etc.

At first is very important for IIT to know the intended period (from DD/MM/YY to DD/MM/YY) of your stay. You should have an idea of the start date at least.

Besides this IIT needs the following documents:

  1. A color copy of your passport
  2. Confirmation of health insurance (Bodily Injury and Property Damage, E101/A1). The document will be provided by KIT.

This is to certify thatMr. /Ms.(your name) is currently enrolled at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology as a student from (start of semester) to (end of semester). As agreed with Prof. (Your advising Prof at IIT)Mr. /Ms.(your name)will have access to the Department of Robotic, Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the Italian Institute of Technology located in Genova-Via Morego 30 for the period of time from(exchange start date) to (end date of exchange)in order to collaborate with …… For the full period of his/her stay at IIT Mr. /Ms. (your name) will be required to observe all health and safety rules adopted by IIT as established by the Italian Law d.lgs. 81/2008 and its amendments. Mr. /Ms. (your name) is bound to ensure full confidentiality of all the confidential information acquired in relation to the study above stated.

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology confirms that Mr./Ms.(your name) is registered as a student at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and that he/she is covered with a working accident insurance according to both the provision of law and the national social security system in Germany.

Mr. /Ms. (your name) has a full insurance, provided by (name of your insurance) policy number (number) and covering bodily injury and property damage.
